'Bev to the Future': Not a Proper Send-Off

Photo courtesy of Getty Images.   I appreciate the heartwarming display at the end of The Goldbergs' series finale, but I didn't like most of the situation or comedy. Adam not exactly being a good knock-off of red-blooded Marty McFly, Barry not truly becoming more than a knucklehead, and the fact that it didn't flash-forward to them all in the 90s and what became of them, along with not sticking true to original showrunner Adam F. Goldberg's vision, are all reasons that 'Bev to the Future' wasn't a proper send-off. I said that the episode should've been an hour-long, and in addition to that, it should've shown all the Goldbergs surrounded by all their loving friends, cool careers, or Adam trying to jump a ramp with the DeLorean. The Goldbergs "Two-Timing Goldbergs" is Comic Romance and Bromance

The February 22 episode of The Goldbergs is a combination of romance and bromance, with Adam trying to get "casual" with Carmen and Barry and Bill trying to heal over Murray.  While it's clear that Beverly is the one who needs the most changing, which now seems impossible after 10 years, there's still some laughter to be shared during these tough adult moments. For example, Adam does his usual cheesy big romantic gesture for the recently single Carmen, but that's not entirely a bad thing, given that he won't stop trying to make her happy. I just hope he makes himself happy, too. On the other hand, what seemed like Barry's two-timing with ex-fiancee Lainey Lewis (Bill's daughter, played by AJ Michalka) over current gf Joanne Schwartz (Beth Triffon) actually was cooler when I found o...
