'The Falcon and The Winter Soldier'-Not Exactly Superheroic, But Decent to Watch

While the cast made some enjoyable moments, ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ was more of a political demonstration than a superhero, buddy cop-type series. Given that there are still some questions left unanswered and conflicts left unresolved, I would give it a 6/10.

‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ takes place after the infamous Blip from ‘Infinity War’, where Sam Wilson/Falcon (played by Anthony Mackie) is wondering if he can handle the mantle of Captain America while also taking care of some family problems, and James “Bucky” Barnes/Winter Soldier (played by Sebastian Stan) is trying to correct the wrongs of his brainwashed killing days. If those aren’t tough enough, maybe the rise of a new Cap named John Walker (played by Wyatt Russell) and the leader of terrorist group Flag Smashers named Karli Morgenthau (played by Erin Kellyman) will give these two something else to fight against.

I liked that the series showed Sam as more of a hero without the Falcon wings when he fought to save his family’s business, and I liked that reluctant Bucky got help to heal from his past sins. What I didn’t like was that they weren’t the best of friends, there’s still conflict eating up the world thanks to Thanos, and it didn’t explain what’s up with the rest of the Avengers on the side. Not to mention the many more political than superhero situations that arose when the two heroes got on a collision course with the Flag Smashers. If you want to understand what I’m talking about, stream ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ on Disney+ now.
